Almost Half Way
Yup, its true, we are almost half way done with the deployment. Some days, the end seems so close, yet it's still sooooo far away. Since Rob has left from R&R, the boys and I have had to get back into our routine, which has not been an easy task at all.
We have been really busy lately, with scouts, school, and hanging out with friends. Although here lately, I'm discovering that some people I thought were my friends, are not. I used to think I was such a good judge of character, but it seems I've lost that somewhere.
The boys and I went to two different pumpkin patches. The first pumpkin patch we went to was actually at a apple mill. It was fun, we all got covered in mud thanks to the awesome Washington rain. My friend Sara and her daughter went with us. Then this past weekend, we went to another pumpkin patch with the scouts. It was fun, the boys had a great time at both, picking out their own pumpkins.
We are not on the hunt to find a church we enjoy. We attended a church on post today, and while it was nice, it just wasn't for us. So we are going to pick another one, and try it next Sunday, and we'll keep going to new ones until we find the one that we feel comfortable in.
I've also started working on the "better Amie" I've got out all soda (ok so yes I did cheat once) and I'm cutting back on sweet tea, which is quite difficult, so I've slowly been making it with less and less sugar. I'm also going to start working out soon. I was going to start tomorrow, but I am working on steam cleaning the carpet in the house, and I really want to get that done, get the house back in order and make sure the boys and I stick to the routine of cleaning.
Next month, I get to go Christmas shopping for Rob. Its kind weird thinking about what to send to him. Not like he really has that many luxuries. Before he left after R&R, I asked him what he wanted for Christmas, and he whispered in my ear "To be home with you and the boys" Talk about breaking my heart.
I also need to start working on shopping for the boys. I really have no clue what to get them. I like Rob being here to help me shop for the boys. But it will be okay, he'll be here next year, and we can have a good Christmas.
